This sunny ski tour with plenty of downhill metres and little ascent to the Unterbäch Glacier is a wonderful experience. First take the mountain railway up to Belalp and on to Hohstock. Here you traverse the S-ridge in a tunnel. On the west side of the ridge, the piste runs directly southwards down to Belalp. Descend over or next to the piste until you can bypass a rocky spur of the Hohstock to the south.
Now continue in a north-westerly direction, ascending past P. 2982 to the Unterbäch Glacier. From here, you can either ski back to the ski area (towards Chiematte) or continue the tour to the Unterbächhorn, Gänderhorn and Grisighorn.
Another option would be to start this tour directly from the Schönbiel mountain station at 2300 metres.

Not enough?
If you want to extend the tour, you can first ascend from the Hohstock on skins for about an hour until you reach the Belgrat. Here you can look forward to a fantastic descent to the Unterbäch Glacier.
Material
In addition to the usual ski touring equipment with ice axe and crampons, we recommend climbing equipment with 20-30 metres of rope or a half rope, 2-3 slings and express.
Guided tour
