In 2008, in addition to the "Färricha", the "Steigle" was also restored. Between two rock sections and in a zigzag, the path leads over narrow turns into the depths and thus overcomes the 100m between the Aletschbord and the "Aletschji". The path is partly paved with natural stones and mostly sloped with dry stone walls on the valley side.
A path for cattle and people
In early summer, shepherds and farmers use the drift path to drive their sheep, goats and cows to the alps in the "Aletschji", where they spend the summer. As the only connection, the cattle also return to Belalp at the end of the summer on the "Steigle".
