In addition to the "Färricha", the "Steigle" was also restored in 2008. The path zigzags between two rocky outcrops and descends the 100 metres between the Aletschbord and the "Aletschji". The path is partly paved with natural stones and mostly supported by dry stone walls on the valley side.
A path for cattle and people
In early summer, shepherds and farmers use the driveway to drive their sheep, goats and cows to the Alps in the "Aletschji", where they spend the summer. As the only connection, the cattle also return to the Belalp at the end of the summer on the "Steigle";
