The Aletsch Forest
From the Riederalp you can hike to the Riederfurka in around 30 minutes. There, you also reach the border to the nature reserve in the UNESCO-World Heritage Site – the Aletsch forest. After a few more minutes you will see the Great Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps.
On the way to Punkt Biel, you will pass the oldest (800-1000 years) and the highest growing Swiss pines (2200 m a.s.l.) in Europe. Past the Moosflueh and the idyllic Blausee lake, you will get back to your starting point.
